CHRIST THE HEALER

by

F. F. Bosworth

Christ the Healer was first printed in 1924 with this edition copyrighted in 1973 and 2000 by R. V. Bosworth, the son of the author, F. F. Bosworth who went home to be with the Lord in 1958.  This edition was printed by Fleming H. Revell, a division of Baker Book House Company, P. O. Box 6287, Grand Rapids, MI 49516-6287.

From the foreword to the 2000 edition written by Bob Bosworth we learn a little about his father F. F. Bosworth.  He was a dedicated evangelist whose primary purpose was to see souls saved with healing of the body only a secondary consideration.  Bob Bosworth states, "Early in Dad's ministry, he discovered that the healing side of the Gospel had been given to the Church as its greatest evangelizing agency.  This discovery continued to guide him through more than fifty years  of ministry.  This guiding  light eventually took him to Africa at the age of seventy-five where he had his most successful ministry."

Christ the Healer is a compilation of the many sermons preached by F. F. Bosworth rather than a normal treatise on the subject.  It is considered by many to be one of the best books on healing and is easy to read because it is written in a plain and simple manner.  It is also easy to use for study because of the construction using the sermons as he had written them for preaching.  Some of the sermon titles are: To those needing healing; Did Jesus redeem us from our diseases when He atoned for our sins?; Is healing for all?; How to appropriate the redemptive and covenant blessing of bodily healing; How to have your prayers answered; and Why some fail to receive healing from Christ.

This book is one of the few ever written that describes divine healing as part of the work Christ accomplished for us through His sacrifice on the cross.  Jesus the Lamb of God, perfect in every way not only bought our redemption from sin but also purchased divine healing for us.  An important lesson in how precious is the gift we have in Christ Jesus.
