This is the history of the John Shine Family as it is known by the author near the end of March of the year of our Lord, 2003. Some, but not all, of the information has been checked against original records. In that respect, this is a living document with additions and/or corrections to be made as the information becomes available to the author. Much credit is due my cousin Sharon, who is also a Shine descendant, for finding large portions of the information contained here. There is an interesting story about how she and I became acquainted. She had seen the name Daisey Shine on a web page of mine. She was interested in knowing more because her great grandmother's name was Margaret Cora Shine but went by the name of Daisy. Sharon sent me an e-mail asking for more information about my Daisey Shine. As we sent e-mail messages back and forth we discovered we each had identical copies of several photographs. While continuing to share information, we have pieced together what we think is a reasonably true family tree. The two Daisy/Daisey Shines appear to be first cousins.
